MANILA, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Philippines' unemployment rate in September slightly decreased to 3.8 percent from 3.9 percent in August, data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) showed on Thursday.
PSA Chief Dennis Mapa said in a press conference that an estimated 1.96 million Filipinos were out of work in September, down from 2.03 million in August.
The unemployment rate in September 2024 was 3.7 percent.
The Philippines' Department of Economy, Planning, and Development said the data reflected the economy's capacity to generate stable and meaningful jobs for millions of Filipinos, even amid uncertainties and headwinds. ■
