WARSAW, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Poland is set to receive 451.5 million euros (518 million U.S. dollars) from the European Union (EU) to develop its rail and maritime infrastructure, Polish Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak said Tuesday.
The funding, granted under the EU's Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) 2024 program, will support four Polish projects, including upgrades to the Rail Baltica section and improvements to port access, Klimczak said on social media platform X.
A key project funded under the program is Rail Baltica, part of the Trans-European Transport Network linking Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Finland. The project aims to align rail infrastructure with EU standards and enhance connections between the Baltic States and the broader European rail network. (1 euro = 1.15 U.S. dollar) ■
