NEW YORK, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar strengthened in late trading on Monday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, added 0.07 percent to 99.874 at 3 p.m. (2000 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro was down to 1.1520 dollars from 1.1525 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound fell to 1.3138 dollars from 1.3140 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 154.19 Japanese yen, higher than 154.09 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar was up to 0.8077 Swiss francs from 0.8046 Swiss francs, and it rose to 1.4052 Canadian dollars from 1.4015 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar slipped to 9.4827 Swedish kronor from 9.4968 Swedish kronor. ■
