NEW YORK, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar advanced in late trading on Friday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, gained 0.28 percent to 99.804 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro declined to 1.1525 dollars from 1.1568 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound fell to 1.3140 dollars from 1.3148 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar added to 0.8046 Swiss francs from 0.8021 Swiss francs, and it increased to 1.4015 Canadian dollars from 1.3984 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar advanced to 9.4968 Swedish kronor from 9.4373 Swedish kronor. ■
