BANGKOK, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's economy is projected to grow 2.4 percent in 2025, slightly up from 2.2 percent in an earlier forecast, driven by year-end stimulus measures and robust export performance, the Ministry of Finance said on Thursday.

Private consumption is expected to expand 3 percent, boosted by the government's initiatives such as the co-payment program, which aims to spur domestic consumption during the final quarter of the year, the ministry said in a statement.

Merchandise export value in U.S. dollars is forecast to rise 10 percent, up from the previous projection of 5.5 percent, said Vinit Visessuvanapoom, director general of the ministry's Fiscal Policy Office.

The Southeast Asian country's economic growth is expected to slow to 2 percent next year, primarily owing to accelerated exports in 2025, a measure taken to mitigate the impact of U.S. tariff impositions, Vinit told a news conference.

Last year, the kingdom's economy grew 2.5 percent.
