BAGHDAD, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Iraq and Türkiye on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to boost collaboration across a range of commercial and economic sectors, the Iraqi Trade Ministry said.

The agreement was reached during the second session of the Iraqi-Turkish Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO), held in Baghdad and co-chaired by Iraqi Trade Minister Atheer al-Ghurairi and Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat. Officials from both countries' public and private sectors also attended.

The MoU covers cooperation in organizing international exhibitions, facilitating trade and investment, customs and standardization, and key industries, including food, construction materials, automobiles, and spare parts. It also aims to strengthen the exchange of expertise between private sector actors, the ministry said.

The JETCO session was followed by the opening of an exhibition of Turkish products at the Baghdad International Fairgrounds, running from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1. The exhibition provides a platform for Turkish companies to showcase their products and explore opportunities to expand trade, according to the statement.
