BISHKEK, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan's domestic e-commerce market in 2025 is estimated to have reached 525 million U.S. dollars, up 15 percent from last year, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev said Thursday.
Speaking at the E-commerce EXPO Central Asia 2025 in Bishkek, Kasymaliev said online purchases in the first half of the year totaled about 1 million transactions worth 19.4 million dollars -- a 56-percent increase from the same period in 2024, according to the Cabinet's press service.
Kasymaliev described e-commerce as a powerful driver of economic growth and investment, saying it has brought major structural changes to the national economy.
"For Kyrgyzstan, e-commerce has become not just a new sector, but a powerful tool for economic growth and integration into regional and global supply chains. In recent years, we have witnessed rapid growth in online sales, digital payments, and the development of logistics and financial infrastructure, which make participation in the digital economy accessible for small and medium-sized businesses," he said. ■
