KABUL, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and five others injured when their vehicle veered off the road and fell into a deep ravine in northern Afghanistan's Badakhshan province, provincial police spokesman Ehsanullah Kamgar said Tuesday evening.
The accident took place in Arghanjkhaw district after the driver lost control on a steep path, resulting in the immediate death of one passenger and injuries to five others, including a child, Kamgar added.
This is the fourth road accident reported in Afghanistan over the past three days.
Deadly road accidents continue to plague war-torn Afghanistan, frequently caused by poor road conditions, reckless driving, and insufficient safety measures in rugged terrain with limited infrastructure. ■
