AMMAN, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) on Wednesday evacuated the 13th batch of sick children from the Gaza Strip under the "Jordanian Medical Corridor" initiative.
The latest group included 12 patients and 38 companions, who will receive treatment in Jordanian hospitals in coordination with the Jordanian Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization, the JAF said. The initiative aims to support Palestinians and alleviate their humanitarian suffering.
Since its launch in March, Jordan has evacuated 799 people from Gaza, including 232 patients and 567 companions, transporting them by land and air for medical care.
In February, King Abdullah II announced that Jordan is ready to receive up to 2,000 Palestinian children from Gaza for treatment. ■
