MOSCOW, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- The death toll has risen to nine from a factory explosion in Russia's Chelyabinsk region, with five others injured, the regional governor said Thursday.
Aleksei Teksler, governor of the Chelyabinsk region, said on Telegram that the blast occurred at a plant and that there was no confirmation at this stage that a drone attack was involved.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the explosion was caused by a violation of safety regulations, according to local authorities. ■
