KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's inflation for the third quarter increased by 1.3 percent year on year, official data showed Wednesday.
The Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) said in a statement that the increase was attributed to insurance and financial services (5.6 percent), personal care, social protection and miscellaneous goods and services (4.2 percent), restaurant and accommodation services (3.3 percent) and education (2.3 percent).
On a quarterly basis, the inflation grew at 0.4 percent, the same rate as recorded in the second quarter of 2025.
Meanwhile, Malaysia's inflation rose 1.5 percent in September, with the index points standing at 135.2 as against 133.2 in the same month of 2024. ■
