KABUL, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- A total of 125 development and infrastructure projects have been implemented and put into operation in southern Afghanistan's Uruzgan province, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development announced on Tuesday.
Costing 280 million afghani (over 4.2 million U.S. dollars), the projects were implemented on the outskirts of Gyzab district, according to the ministry.
These initiatives include a range of essential improvements related to rural roads, water canals, culverts, and walls, said the ministry.
The completion of these projects has generated employment opportunities for hundreds of local residents and enhanced living conditions for thousands throughout the districts mentioned above, the ministry detailed. ■
