NEW YORK, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended lower on Thursday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 301.07 points, or 0.65 percent, to 45,952.24. The S&P 500 sank 41.99 points, or 0.63 percent, to 6,629.07. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 107.54 points, or 0.47 percent, to 22,562.54.
Ten of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in red, with financials and energy leading the laggards by dropping 2.75 percent and 1.12 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, technology bucked the trend by going up 0.13 percent. ■
