ISLAMABAD, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's textile exports in the first quarter of the current 2025-26 fiscal year went up by 5.62 percent as compared to the corresponding period of last year, officials from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said on Wednesday.

The exports of textile were recorded at 4.774 billion U.S. dollars during July-September of the ongoing fiscal year against 4.520 billion dollars in July-September of the previous fiscal year, according to the PBS officials.

Meanwhile, on a year-on-year basis, the textile exports from the country witnessed a nominal decrease of 1.99 percent and were recorded at 1,572.920 million dollars in September 2025 against 1,604.856 million dollars in September 2024, the PBS said.

However, on a month-on-month basis, the textile exports increased by 3.23 percent in September 2025 compared to August.

The textile commodities that contributed to positive growth in exports included cotton yarn, knitwear, bed wear, towels, tents, canvas, tarpaulin, silk and synthetic textiles, the PBS said.
