TEHRAN, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Monday that the country's ambassadors to France, Britain and Germany, who had been recalled following the reinstatement of international sanctions on Tehran, have returned to their places of mission in the European capitals.

He made the remarks at a weekly press conference in Tehran, adding that the three envoys had been recalled to Iran for consultations.

Baghaei said the ambassadors returned to Paris, London and Berlin after attending several meetings in Tehran to review different aspects of relations between Iran and the three European states.

Iran announced the recall of its ambassadors on September 27, the day on which UN sanctions were renewed after the European trio's push to invoke the "snapback" mechanism in late August, which enables the reinstatement of UN embargoes within 30 days if Tehran breached the 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.
