RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Guilherme Pinto scored late as Mirassol moved to fourth in Brazil's Serie A on Wednesday with a 2-1 home victory over Fluminense.
Guilherme Marques opened the scoring in the 36th minute by firing into the top-left corner after Alesson Batista's cross.
The visitors equalized just before the hour when Matheus Martinelli slotted home from 12 yards after a corner.
But Pinto restored his side's lead four minutes from time by combining with Carlos Eduardo before sending a low left-footed shot past veteran goalkeeper Fabio.
The result leaves Mirassol with 46 points from 27 games, nine points behind leaders Palmeiras and eight points ahead of seventh-placed Fluminense.
In Wednesday's only other Brazilian Serie A fixture, Atletico Mineiro eased to a 3-1 home win over Sport Recife. ■
