KIEV, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Energy infrastructure facilities in Ukraine's northern Chernihiv region and central Dnipropetrovsk region were hit by Russian strikes, the Ministry of Energy said Wednesday.
Efforts have been made to restore electricity supplies to the affected areas, the ministry said, urging residents to use power sparingly, especially during peak consumption hours in the morning and evening.
In the Chernihiv region, an energy facility was struck in the town of Nizhyn, and an oil depot was hit in the city of Pryluky, according to the region's Governor Viacheslav Chaus.
Ukraine's largest private energy company DTEK reported that it had one thermal plant targeted during the Russian attacks, with two employees injured. ■
