TEHRAN, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said Tuesday that Tehran's nuclear issue can only be resolved through negotiation.
"There is NO solution but a negotiated outcome," he said in a post on X.
He made the remarks in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's warning Sunday that Washington "will have to take care of that" if Iran restarts its nuclear program.
There was no evidence to support Trump's claim that Iran would have a nuclear weapon "within a month," Araghchi said.
He noted that upon embarking on the fifth round of nuclear talks with U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, he wrote: "Zero nuclear weapons = we DO have a deal. Zero enrichment = we do NOT have a deal."
The Trump administration "would see just how close we were to celebrating a new and historic Iran nuclear deal" by reviewing the records of those talks, he said, noting that doubling down on the "miscalculation" about Iran and its nuclear program would not solve anything. ■
