SYDNEY -- Police in the Australian State of New South Wales said in a statement on Sunday evening that a man was taken to the hospital suffering a gunshot wound, and a number of other people have reported injuries.
Police were called to Georges River Road in the inner-west Sydney suburb of Croydon Park at about 7:45 p.m. local time on Sunday, after reports of a shooting. It locked down the area with specialist resources attending to assist. (Australia-Shooting)

JAKARTA -- The death toll from the collapse of a school building in Indonesia's East Java province has risen to 45, regional rescue authorities said Sunday.

HANOI -- Vietnam's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 8.22 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, Vietnam News Agency reported on Sunday, citing Vietnam's Ministry of Finance.

DHAKA -- Dengue fever claimed nine lives in Bangladesh on Sunday, marking the country's highest single-day death toll this year and bringing the total fatalities to 212, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
The data showed Bangladesh also recorded its highest single-day dengue admissions this year, with 1,042 patients hospitalized in the past 24 hours as of 8:00 a.m. local time Sunday, raising the total number of cases of the mosquito-borne disease to 49,907 so far this year.
