BEIJING, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Amanda Anisimova captured her first China Open title after defeating Czech rising star Linda Noskova 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 in the women's singles final here on Sunday.
A day after routing second seed and compatriot Coco Gauff 6-1, 6-2 in the semifinals, the 24-year-old third seed maintained her momentum, sweeping through the opening set without dropping a game.
Noskova, 20, responded strongly in the second set, finding her rhythm to level the match at one set apiece. However, Anisimova broke early in the decider and kept control to seal the victory 6-2.
"It has been incredible weeks. Linda is very young. I am sure we will have more finals to play," Anisimova said after the match. "I want to thank all the fans, and I believe every single player can feel the support. I had the best time here."
Noskova's run to the final was the best of her career at WTA 1000 level, as she upset several top players, including home favorite Zheng Qinwen and fifth seed Jessica Pegula of the United States.
"It was a nice surprise and an unforgettable experience for me to be in the final," noted Noskova, who reached a WTA 1000 final for the first time.
In the women's doubles final, second seeds Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani of Italy rallied past Japan's Miyu Kato and Hungary's Fanny Stollar 6-7(1), 6-3, 10-2 to become the first pair to successfully defend the China Open women's doubles title.
"We started with a lot of mistakes. We lost many important points, but we were repeating to ourselves to stay positive and to fight. In the end, it worked. We found a little bit more of our tennis with fewer mistakes," said Paolini, 29.
Her 38-year-old partner Errani added, "We enjoyed a lot in these two weeks. We are very proud of how we managed to come back in the match, change after the first set. We ended very good."
According to the organizers, the 2025 China Open drew a total of 360,000 spectators to the National Tennis Center - a 20 percent increase from last year - with box office revenue reaching 88 million yuan (about 12.36 million U.S. dollars). ■
