NEW YORK, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell in late trading on Friday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased 0.13 percent to 97.723 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro was up to 1.1740 dollars from 1.1721 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound rose to 1.3480 dollars from 1.3447 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 147.50 Japanese yen, higher than 147.21 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar was down to 0.7954 Swiss francs from 0.7977 Swiss francs, and it slipped to 1.3953 Canadian dollars from 1.3963 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar fell to 9.3619 Swedish kronor from 9.4027 Swedish kronor. ■
