MEXICO CITY, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- AC Milan forward Santiago Gimenez and Genoa defender Johan Vasquez headline Mexico's squad for friendlies against Colombia and Ecuador this month.
El Tri manager Javier Aguirre also included AEK Athens midfielder Orbelin Pineda, Lokomotiv Moscow defender Cesar Montes, and Al Qadsiah's Colombia-born forward Julian Quinones.
Mexico will meet Colombia in Arlington, Texas, on October 11 and Ecuador near Guadalajara three days later.
The matches will serve as chances for the teams to prepare for next year's FIFA World Cup. Mexico qualified automatically as a tournament co-host while Colombia and Ecuador earned direct places by finishing second and third, respectively, in South America's qualifying tournament.
