LIMA, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Teenage midfielder Felipe Chavez has been included in a revamped Peru squad for an away friendly against Chile, the Peruvian football federation said on Thursday.
The 18-year-old, a member of Bayern Munich's youth squad, was born in Germany but has represented Peru - the country of his father - at under-17 and under-20 level.
Other uncapped players named in the provisional 30-man squad include defender Anderson Villacorta, goalkeeper Pedro Diaz, left-back Cristian Carbajal and forward Juan Pablo Goicochea.
But manager Manuel Barreto left out veterans Pedro Gallese, Paolo Guerrero, Renato Tapia, Yoshimar Yotun, Luis Advincula, Miguel Trauco, Sergio Pena, Gianluca Lapadula and Edison Flores.
Peru will face Chile at Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida in Santiago on October 10. Both teams failed to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada. ■
