PANAMA CITY, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Marseille right-back Michael Amir Murillo and Norwich City center-back Jose Cordoba were among 24 players named in Panama's squad on Thursday for World Cup qualifiers against El Salvador and Suriname.
Manager Thomas Christiansen also included Slovan Bratislava defender Cesar Blackman, Las Palmas midfielder Edward Cedeno, Pumas UNAM playmaker Adalberto Carrasquilla and San Diego midfielder Anibal Godoy.
Panama will face El Salvador in San Salvador on October 10 and Suriname in Panama City four days later.
Christiansen's side is currently third in Group A with two draws from two matches in the CONCACAF region's final qualifying round, which features 12 teams divided into three groups of four.
The top team from each group will automatically qualify for the 2026 tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada. The two best-ranked runners-up will advance to the inter-confederation playoffs. ■
