BEIJING, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic and American tennis player Jessica Pegula will meet in the women's singles semifinal after seizing victories at the China Open on Friday.

20-year-old Noskova saw off Britain's Sonay Kartal 6-3, 6-4 to book the last four spot. Noskova previously beat seventh-seeded home favorite Zheng Qinwen and Russia's Anastasia Potapova in the third and fourth rounds successively.

"There were a lot of ups and downs definitely, and I tired to break back. It has already been a successful tournament for me. It's always hard to find your rhythm and motivation at the end of the year. I will enjoy my time on court," said Noskova.

In another quarterfinal, fifth seed Pegula rallied past her compatriot Emma Navarro 6-7 (2), 6-2, 6-1.

"She [Navarro] did a good job of staying tough, but at the same time I felt I was playing the right way. I told myself to not get too frustrated. That kind of allowed me to play more free," Pegula said.

In the women's doubles, Hsieh Su-wei of Chinese Taipei and Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko defeated Tereza Mihalikova of Slovakia and Britain's Olivia Nicholls 6-4, 6-3 to sail into the semifinals.

On Saturday, the singles semifinals of Pegula against Noskova as well as an all-American clash between Amanda Anisimova and Coco Gauff will be on show, while Hsieh and Ostapenko will compete with the second-seeded Italian pair Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani for a final berth.
