ZAGREB, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Croatia is ready to increase the production of FPV drones, Croatian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Ivan Anusic said on Wednesday.
"We are talking about the possibility of very quickly increasing production to half a million or more than half a million drones per year, or as many as are necessary," he said.
Currently, the country produces about 200,000 drones per year.
Anusic said production could quickly expand, with the potential to reach several million if planned projects move forward as expected.
He also announced that an agreement will soon be signed to strengthen anti-drone protection for Croatia's critical infrastructure.
In May, Anusic said Croatia was ready to take a leading role within the European Union in the production of small combat drones, with financing possible through the "ReArm Europe" plan. ■
