BELGRADE, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Five people were wounded, including three men and two women, when an unknown gunman opened fire in a restaurant in eastern Belgrade's Visnjicka Banja district on Tuesday.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia, the shooting took place around 14:23 local time (1225 GMT), and the injured people were rushed to the Emergency Center of the University Clinical Centre of Serbia (UKCS) for treatment.
"One patient with severe injuries was admitted to the operating room under resuscitation measures, while the others are undergoing diagnostics and treatment," according to an announcement of the UKCS.
Police sealed off the area and launched a large-scale search to track down the assailant. The case is under investigation, and authorities have not released the identities of the victims. ■
