MINSK, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov on Monday praised China's historic achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, calling the country's development path a model in modern world history.
Speaking at a reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Snopkov said that in just a brief span of history, China has transformed into an industrial and technological powerhouse.
He said the country is advancing with confidence toward realizing its Two Centenary Goals and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, he said.
Snopkov noted that China's impressive achievements in eradicating poverty ensured a decent life for hundreds of millions of Chinese people and demonstrated both the strategic guidance of China's leadership and the hard work and wisdom of the Chinese people.
He said Belarus places a high priority on the Global Governance Initiative proposed by China.
"Belarus sees this initiative as an embodiment of China's sense of responsibility for the future of humanity, and as a fresh step toward building a community with a shared future for humanity," the official added.
Snopkov said that under the strategic guidance of the two countries' leaders, Belarus-China relations have withstood the test of time, with their strong ties laying a solid foundation for future cooperation. ■
