COLOMBO, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka's Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) recorded a 33.2 percent increase in the All-Share Price Index (ASPI) during the first nine months of 2025, rising from 16,348 points at the beginning of this year to 21,778.60 points on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the ASPI reached its highest ever closing value on Tuesday, up 102.30 points from the previous day. Meanwhile, the S&P SL20 index also advanced by 7.32 points to close at 6,126.53 points.
Daily turnover stood at 6.27 billion Sri Lankan rupees (about 20.9 million U.S. dollars). Of this, domestic purchases were 6.01 billion rupees and domestic sales were 5.65 billion rupees.
The ASPI measures the movements of the overall market, while the S&P SL20 follows the performance of 20 leading publicly traded companies listed on the CSE. ■
