ULAN BATOR, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia's economy is expected to grow at 5.7 percent in both 2025 and 2026, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) said Tuesday, down from the bank's previous forecasts.

In its Asian Development Outlook for September 2025, the ADB projected Mongolia's economic growth at 5.7 percent in both 2025 and 2026, down from April's forecasts of 6.6 percent and 5.9 percent, respectively.

Mongolia's economic growth is expected to be driven this year by a recovery in livestock numbers and the ramp-up of the Oyu Tolgoi underground mine, the ADB said.

Meanwhile, Mongolia's inflation remained above its central bank's target range in the first half of 2025 due to lingering effects from regulated price hikes.

The landlocked Asian country's GDP grew 5.6 percent in the first half of 2025, according to the National Statistics Office.
