MANILA, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Philippines' total external trade in goods decreased by 1.3 percent year-on-year in August to 17.67 billion U.S. dollars, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said on Tuesday.
Of the total external trade in the month, the agency said 60 percent were imported goods, while the remaining 40 percent were exported goods.
The agency said the balance of trade in goods or the difference between export and import value in August amounted to -3.54 billion dollars, indicating a trade deficit with an annual decline of 19.4 percent. ■
