JERUSALEM, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Israel's natural gas royalty revenues reached 980 million shekels (around 297 million U.S. dollars) in the first half of 2025, according to a report released by the state's Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure on Tuesday.

The report noted a 16.6 percent year-on-year decrease from the 1.175 billion shekels in revenue from January to June 2024.

It explained that the decline was due to the temporary cessation of natural gas production at the Mediterranean fields Leviathan and Karish during the 12-day war with Iran in mid-June, as well as maintenance work carried out at the fields in May.

According to the report, total production from the Tamar, Leviathan and Karish fields reached 12.5 billion cubic meters (BCM) in the first half, a 4.9 percent decline from 13.14 BCM in the same period last year.

The report said that of the total natural gas produced, 6.38 BCM were used domestically, while 6.12 BCM were exported to neighboring Egypt and Jordan.
