HEFEI, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- China's booming low-altitude economy has evolved from novelty to essential practical use as low-altitude logistics proves increasingly beneficial for short-haul, cross-region and city deliveries.

By August this year, Hefei has launched 25 blood delivery drone routes that cover more than 20 hospital areas, saving valuable time for patients. The city also set up 77 drone takeoff and landing sites, enabling various application scenarios including cargo transport, take-out meals delivery and postal services.

Huangshan Mountain, a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site, had long lacked of efficient logistics and relied on cable cars and human labors in transport. Since 2023, the scenic area has introduced drones to transport items such as domestic waste, take-out meals and construction supplies. In the first half of 2025, drones in the scenic area completed more than 24,900 flights and transported 510 tonnes of supplies.
