HELSINKI, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Finnish lifestyle design brand Marimekko will open a new flagship store in China's Hong Kong in October, underscoring Asia as its key international growth market.
The store, set to open on Oct. 16, will be located in Causeway Bay, a hub for fashion and lifestyle brands, and will relocate and expand Marimekko's first Hong Kong outlet, which opened in 2012. It will be operated by Sidefame Ltd., the company's long-standing franchise partner in China.
Founded in 1951, Marimekko has expanded to nearly 20 stores in China and about 170 worldwide, serving customers in 39 countries online. In 2024, the company reported net sales of 183 million euros (215.48 million U.S. dollars). It has identified Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland as key markets for expansion under its 2023-2027 growth strategy. ■
