HANOI, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese airports handled more than 64 million passengers in the first nine months of this year, up nearly 11 percent year on year, Vietnam News Agency reported Monday, citing the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
International passenger traffic reached over 35 million, up more than 13 percent, while domestic passenger volume hit 29 million, increasing by over 7 percent from a year earlier, according to the report.
Cargo transport exceeded 1 million tons, rising nearly 19 percent, with international cargo up nearly 23 percent and domestic cargo inching up 0.2 percent.
Vietnamese airlines carried almost 44 million passengers during the period, including 29 million on domestic routes and nearly 15 million on international routes, the report said. ■
