BUENOS AIRES, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Central Cordoba came from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 away draw with Boca Juniors in Argentina's Primera Division on Sunday.
Rodrigo Battaglia opened the scoring just before halftime with a close-range header and Miguel Merentiel doubled the hosts' lead with a first-time finish in the 56th minute.
Jose Florentin pulled a goal back with a header from point-blank range and Ivan Gomez equalized by thumping a shot into the top-right corner.
The result leaves Boca third in the 15-team Group A, ahead of fourth-placed Central Cordoba on goal difference.
Elsewhere in Argentina's top flight on Sunday, Rosario Central was held to a 1-1 home draw by Talleres Cordoba, Argentinos Juniors won 3-0 at home to Banfield, Instituto drew 1-1 at Godoy Cruz, Independiente drew 1-1 at home to San Lorenzo and Tigre prevailed 2-0 at home to Aldosivi. ■
