KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Teleport, the logistics arm of Malaysia-based Capital A Berhad, and China Central Longhao Airlines Co. Ltd (Air Central China) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen the air cargo connectivity between China and Southeast Asia.

The duo said in a statement on Friday that the agreement supports the vision of enhancing trade and air cargo connectivity along the fast-growing aerial trade corridor between the two sides.

The partnership strengthens the Air Silk Road and supports growing China-ASEAN trade, and aims to streamline cargo movement and reduce transit times along key routes, it said.

Building on the MoU, Teleport and Air Central China also announced an interline agreement for faster, seamless cargo transfer between their networks.

"By linking Air Central's key hubs in China with Teleport's extensive Southeast Asian and Asia-Pacific network, we're providing direct, one-booking access from major Chinese hubs into the heart of Southeast Asia for more efficient trade," said Pete Chareonwongsak, chief executive officer of Teleport.

Li Zhenliang, chief executive officer of Air Central China, added that the MoU has laid the foundation for comprehensive cooperation between both parties.

The MoU was signed at the Zhengzhou-Kuala Lumpur "Air Silk Road" Forum for International Cooperation at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Thursday.
