7.4-magnitude quake hits off east coast of Russia's Kamchatka, tsunami alert issued

A 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck off the eastern coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia, the local geophysical service said on Thursday.

The quake occurred at 1858 GMT with its epicenter located about 149 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the regional capital, at a depth of 39 km, according to the Kamchatka branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences' Geophysical Survey.

Trump ends UK tour with disagreement over Palestine, amid loud protest

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he disagrees with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer over Britain's plan to recognize a Palestinian state.

"I have a disagreement with the prime minister on that score," Trump told a joint press conference before ending his second state visit to Britain, when asked about Britain's recognition plan. "One of our few disagreements, actually."

Yemen's Houthis claim multiple attacks on Israeli cities

Yemen's Houthi group said it launched a long-range "hypersonic ballistic missile" and three drones on three cities in Israel on Thursday night.

In a televised statement aired by Houthi-run al-Masirah TV, the group's military spokesman Yahya Sarea said the missile targeted a military target in the city of Jaffa (Tel Aviv), while the three drones hit targets in the city of Beer Sheva and the port city of Eilat.

Israel strikes Hezbollah targets in S. Lebanon

The Israeli army carried out several airstrikes Thursday evening across southern Lebanon, targeting villages including Mays el Jabal, Dibbine, and Kfar Tebnit, the National News Agency (NNA) reported.

The strikes came after Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee warned on X of attacks on Hezbollah infrastructure in response to its alleged attempts to rebuild activities in the region.

Man killed by police after attacking children in southern France

A man attacked children outside a school in the southern French town of La Seyne-sur-Mer Thursday afternoon before being killed by police, French news channel BFMTV reported.

The man attacked children outside the Pierre Semard school and then confronted the police officers arriving to the scene, BFMTV reported, citing police sources, without giving further details on the condition of the children targeted by the attacker or his motives.
