MOSCOW -- The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Friday it seized 1,515 kg of cocaine from Ecuador at a port in St. Petersburg.
Following intelligence provided by foreign partners, the FSB and Russian Federal Customs Service discovered 1,500 bricks of cocaine hidden in a banana shipment on a vessel from Ecuador on Aug. 29, said the FSB in a statement. (Russia-Cocaine-Seizure)

KABUL -- Seven travelers lost their lives and two others sustained injuries as a car collided with a passenger bus in Wardak province in eastern Afghanistan on Friday, a statement of the provincial police office said.

NEW DELHI -- One worker was killed and four others injured in a blast inside a chemical factory in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, officials said Friday.

DAR ES SALAAM -- At least nine people, including four students, were killed and 16 others injured on Thursday morning after a passenger bus collided head-on with a truck in central Tanzania's Dodoma region, police told Xinhua by phone on Friday.
The accident occurred at around 6:40 a.m. local time (0340 GMT) in the Nyasa Camp area of Chemba district of the region, according to Dodoma Regional Police Commander Galus Hyera. (Tanzania-Road Accident) ■
