GUIYANG, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- A new direct air service linking Guiyang, capital of southwest China's Guizhou Province, and Seoul, the Republic of Korea (ROK), was launched on Wednesday.
The route is operated by 9 Air, also known as Jiuyuan Airlines. The flight from Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport to Incheon International Airport takes about four hours, while the return trip takes about three and a half hours, according to Guizhou Civil Aviation Industry Group.
The route will have two flights per week, scheduled for Wednesdays and Sundays. The outbound flight will depart at 2:55 p.m. Beijing time from Guiyang and arrive in Seoul at 6:50 p.m. The return flight from Seoul departs at 8:25 p.m. Beijing time and arrives in Guiyang at 11:55 p.m.
The new air service is expected to make travel easier, as the ROK plans to introduce a temporary visa-free policy for Chinese group tourists starting in late September, the group added. ■
