CAIRO, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Gharbia Governorate, in the Nile Delta, is one of Egypt's key regions for jasmine cultivation. During harvest, thousands of families rely on jasmine picking and processing to support their income.
Jasmine flowers from this area are processed into aroma-pastes and concretes, which are exported for use in perfumery.
Egypt, along with India, dominates the global supply of jasmine extracts: according to trade sources, around 95 percent of the world's jasmine extract comes from these two countries.
