NEW DELHI, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- At least two Naxals were killed Friday in a fierce gunfight with government forces in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh, police said.
The gunfight broke out in the forest area of Bijapur district, about 450 km southwest of Raipur, the capital city of Chhattisgarh.
According to police, the operation was launched on specific intelligence suggesting the presence of Naxals in the area.
Government forces have not suffered any damage in the gunfight. ■
