NEW DELHI, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- One of the wheels of a domestic flight fell off during its take-off in India on Friday. Fortunately, the flight landed smoothly at its destination airport and all passengers were safe, said a spokesperson of the airline company.
The incident occurred at Kandla airport in the western state of Gujarat. The flight was headed to Mumbai airport.
Confirming the incident, private airline SpiceJet's spokesperson said that on Sept. 12, an outer wheel of a Q-400 aircraft operating from Kandla to Mumbai was found at the runway after its take-off.
"The aircraft continued its journey to Mumbai and landed safely. Following a smooth landing, the aircraft taxied to the terminal under its own power, and all passengers disembarked normally," added the spokesperson. ■
