DHAKA, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh has unequivocally condemned an Israeli attack on Qatar, saying that such an action constitutes a clear violation of the gulf state's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as international law and principles of the UN Charter.
"We call upon the international community, particularly the United Nations and relevant stakeholders, to take appropriate measures to ensure accountability and uphold respect for international law and the UN Charter," Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday.
In a statement, it said Bangladesh stands in steadfast solidarity with the government and people of the brotherly state of Qatar in the face of this unlawful and unprovoked attack.
This incident is yet another indication of Israel's continued disregard for regional stability, international peace, and established international norms. Such an action undermines global efforts toward peace and security, the statement said. ■
