ULAN BATOR, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- A total of 112 drug-related crimes have been registered across Mongolia in the first half of 2025, up 4.5 percent from the same period last year, according to the National Police Agency.
A lack of awareness of drug laws and attempting to make easy money are part of reasons for the growth of drug-related crimes.
Police have arrested 97 people linked to the cases, with more than 50 percent being young people aged 13-25.
According to the law, a person found guilty of trafficking drugs faces at least two years in prison. ■
