BISSAU, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Embassy in Guinea-Bissau on Thursday hosted a photo exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
Nearly 70 guests attended the event, including Aly Hijazy, Guinea-Bissau's minister responsible for military veteran affairs, Nicolau dos Santos, president of the Guinea-Bissau-China Friendship Association, members of the diplomatic corps, and representatives from various sectors.
"The Chinese people's struggle against Japanese aggression should be remembered by all peace- and freedom-loving nations," Hijazy said. He also expressed his "pride in the heroic resistance of the Chinese army, which made an important and decisive contribution to the anti-fascist cause."
Chinese Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau Yang Renhuo said he hoped the exhibition would help friends from all walks of life better understand historical truths and foster consensus on peace.
China, he said, stands ready to work with all countries to implement the Global Governance Initiative and build a community with a shared future for mankind. ■
