KHARTOUM -- Sudan's Transitional Sovereign Council announced on Tuesday that hundreds of civilians were killed after heavy rainfall triggered a landslide in Jebel Marra in the country's Central Darfur State.
"The chairman and members of the council mourn, with deep sorrow and grief, the victims of the landslide disaster in Jebel Marra, which claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent citizens due to the heavy rainfall that struck the region," the council said in a statement. (Sudan-Landslide-Casualty)

GAZA -- At least 12 Palestinians, including seven children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a camp housing displaced persons in the Al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources said on Tuesday.
Sources and witnesses said several children were filling drinking water at the time of the Israeli airstrike, which destroyed several tents made of cloth and nylon. (Gaza Strip-Hamas-Israel)

JERUSALEM -- Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday night that Israel was entering "the decisive stage" of the war in Gaza, seeking to rally support among reservists and counter reports of low turnout for the latest call-up.

SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi group said Tuesday it launched multiple attacks on targets in Israel, including the Israeli army's General Staff headquarters in Tel Aviv, Ben Gurion International Airport, and a vessel in the northern Red Sea.
In a statement aired on the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV, military spokesman Yahya Sarea claimed that "a Sammad-4 drone struck the Israeli army's General Staff building" in Tel Aviv.
