MADRID, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- On the final day of Spain's transfer window, several high-profile signings were completed just before the midnight deadline.
Nico Gonzalez arrives on loan at Atletico Madrid from Juventus to add depth to the flanks of Diego Simeone's side after the earlier departures of Samuel Lino and Rodrigo Riquelme.
Gonzalez's loan deal contains an option for Atletico to make the move permanent if certain conditions are met during the season.
Villarreal has reportedly paid a club record fee for Georgia international forward George Mikautadze to join from French side Lyon on a deal until June 2031.
Struggling Girona signed 23-year-old striker Vladyslav Vanat from Dynamo Kyiv for 15 million euros on a five-year contract.
Meanwhile, Yangel Herrera has left Girona to join Real Sociedad, with the Venezuelan also signing on until June 2030.
Veteran forward Alexis Sanchez has joined Sevilla, with the former Inter Milan, Barcelona and Arsenal forward joining at the request of coach Matias Almeyda, while the club's left-back Adria Pedrosa has joined Elche on loan, with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Real Betis has confirmed the arrival of Brazil's Antony from Manchester United.
The winger, who enjoyed a successful spell on loan with Betis in the second half of the 2024-25 season, returns to the club in a permanent move thought to be worth around 25 million euros.
Antony has signed a contract until June 2030 to put an end to his frustrating spell at Old Trafford, where he had been forced to train apart from the main squad over the summer.
Spain international central defender Aymeric Laporte returns to Athletic Bilbao on a three-year contract after leaving Saudi side Al Nassr, though the deal may not be made official until Tuesday.
The 31-year-old began his career in the Athletic youth system, making 222 first-team appearances before joining Manchester City in 2017, playing 180 times for Pep Guardiola's side before moving to Saudi Arabia in 2023. ■
