Senior Minister Thong Khon, also president of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), said the annual event aims to promote sports and attract more tourists to the Angkor during the rainy season, also known as the green season.

"A total of 4,224 runners took part in this event, including 3,462 Cambodians and 762 foreigners from 47 countries and regions," he said during the race kickoff.

"Most of the international participants are from China, Japan, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States," he added.
