HANOI, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's transportation sector is enhancing its services to meet the travel demand to and from the capital Hanoi during the 80th National Day parade, local daily newspaper Nhan Dan reported Friday.
With the four-day National Day holiday from Saturday to Tuesday, the number of vehicles and passengers arriving in Hanoi is predicted to rise significantly from Thursday to Sunday, while demand for departures will surge on Sept. 3 and 4. Approximately 1,000 additional buses will be mobilized when necessary to meet the heightened demand.
The railway industry has added 51 trains on key routes and adjusted schedules at stations in Hanoi from Aug. 21 to Sept. 2 to cope with rising demand.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has requested airlines to closely monitor bookings and ticket sales to promptly adjust flight operations, especially by adding those to and from Hanoi before and after the holiday, the state-owned media reported. ■
